    Description

    The Vermont Brigade in the Shenandoah Valley 1864 by Aldace F. Walker – Published by The Free Press Association, Burlington, VT. – 1869, First Edition. – This is written to The Memory of the Members of The Vermont Brigade Who Fell in the Valley of the Shenandoah (Virginia) – 191 pages. Has paper label on spine and bookplate on inside cover says Luther O. Greene, Woodstock, Vt. Book is in excellent condition. Several maps and list of soldiers that died. This is a rare out of print book. Book measures 7 7/8 x 5 1/8 inches.
    Luther O. Greene was born on January 16, 1835, at Saint Albans, Vermont and was drafted in June 1863. He was the son of Henry C. and Hannah Green and worked as a postmaster. His wife was Helen V. Bailey Greene (1832-1910).  He died on September 18, 1891, and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Woodstock, Vermont.
