    Nice gilt and black embossed pictorial cover and embossed spine.Lovely flowered endpapers. This book includes
    Barton, Barlow, Livermore
    , Potter, Dix, Gilson, Harris, Porter, Bickerdyke, Barker, Bradley, Taylor, Tyler, Holstein, plus
    33 others
    along with the Naval Academy Hospital, hospital Corps, Hospital Transport service, and the huge intro chapter. I am not sure if they were all Union nurses, or some Confederate [don't have the time to read it either!]. I do believe they were all nurses, although, again, w/out reading it, some could have been spies.
    Pages are generally clean and not nearly as toned as my pictures make them out to be.
    They look about as good as the title page. Generally very clean but lightly tones around the edges.
    Some wear to the gilt on front.
    The
    binding and text are secure.
    No
    rips or folds
    that I saw but there is a very small chip out of one of the edges [shown].Some pencil writing was on the ffep -someone tried to remove it but you can still see it lightly. Some bubbles to bottom of back cover. Tips are not worn at all!
    Generally excellent though for age.
