Binding has been reinforced by blue tape, both front and rear hinges have been reinforced with gray tape, former owners name on endpapers, former owners bookplate also on endpapers, portrait page facing title page is coming loose. The author served with the 6th Connecticut, the 6th Missouri Infantry and as an aide in the 15th Army Corps. The author was captured by Confederate forces during the Atlanta campaign but was able to escape after 4 days of captivity. He spent two months hiding in Georgia before making his way to Union lines. The book is about his adventures during captivity and subsequent escape, nothing about the military campaigns. This is an original, not a reprint. Shipping weight less than 1 pound.I am selling off my Civil War and military book collection in which I have a large number of older and rare histories, including a number of regimental histories. I will combine shipping but due to the number of volumes the sale may take quite some time. I have both Union and Confederate histories. Also some reunion ribbons, photos, cdvs. My collection spans over 50 years of collecting, now have moved into a smaller home and do not have the room. Please follow my auctions for more books in your interest. If there is anything specific you are looking for please send me a message. Also please note that eBay is very politically correct and does not like to have a book listed that has the Confederate flag so you might see some of my listings with something hiding the flag which may appear on the cover or the dust jacket.
