JNSTOSCOPE IS IN GOOD COSMETIC CONDITION WITH SOME MINOR SCRATCHES ON THE VIEWFINDER AND LENS.
LEATHER CASE IS INTACT WITH SOME MINOR CRACKING. ACCORDING TO THE INTERNET:
LIKELY CIRCA 1930S THIS IS AN EXTINCTION/OPTICAL METER. THERE ARE NO ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS.
EXTINCTION METERS HAVE SECTIONS THAT GET PROGRESSIVELY MORE DENSE AND HARDER TO READ--YOU LOOK THROUGH THIS METER AND SEE WHICH LETTER IS THE LAST ONE YOU CAN REASONABLY READ (BECAUSE THE MORE LIGHT, THE MORE DENSE LETTERS WILL LIGHT UP; THE LESS LIGHT, THE FEWER)
YOU THEN USE THE OUTSIDE CYLINDER TO FIGURE YOUR EXPOSURE--YOU MATCH UP THE LETTER AND YOUR FILM SPEED, AND THAT GIVES YOU YOUR SPEED/APERTURE PAIRS.
