    Frontis shows a picture of the American flag with medallion portrait of Abraham Lincoln, and the names of the three actions in which the Regiment participated: Siege of Richmond;  Petersburg, April 1st and 2nd, 1865;  Appomattox Court House, April 9th, 1865.
    This book is the history of a Civil War Regiment made up of black soldiers, which mustered in Kentucky and served in various areas of the South.  Details about the officers (generally white) and the enlisted men (generally black) were assembled from the official records kept by the Regiment Commander during the War.
