Antique Leather SALESMANS SAMPLE ROLL - 6 Portaits / Colored / B&W - 1800's

Description

Antique Salemans Portrait Samples in Black Leather Roll / Case - 6 photos: 4 on canvas, 2 on linen - 3 colored engravings on canvas / 3 black & white - 1 on canvas / 2 on linen.  Victorian era / transistion era from engravings to photos.  The canvas size: 19" by 16", and the linen measures 15 1/4" square.  Linen colors: 1 pink, 1 yellow.
The leather roll had 3 snap closures - 2 button tops are missing - unrolled the case measures 26" by 17 1/2" - leather shows it's age.  The portaits can be removed from the roll for framing via the screws at each end of the roll - note pics.
The photo of the stately gentleman with the beard is the first exposed when unrolled - this canvas piece shows the most wear - the other canvas items have very minor wear to the outer edges / some tissue sheets still seperate the pages /  The portraits are shown in order when the opening pic is placed second in line.  The 2 linen items have cease / fabric lines from being in the roll.
