    An Artists Story of the Great War Volumes I thru IV
    . Rare set. Hard to get all 4 together.
    From 1890 by Edwin Forbes, Published by Fords, Howard + Hubert, New York.
    Each book shows heavy wear and spines are weak. Volumes II and III are in better condition with some small edge tears and frayed cover edges. Volumes l and IV have loose pages/spine/binding, frayed edges, and small edge tears.
    Volume I - missing the first 2 blank page, has "Office Copy 1st Edition" handwritten on the title page, it is also missing pages
    3/4, 7/8, 11/12, 15/16, 35/36
    (some sketch pages
    and the Equestrian portraits).
    Volume II - missing half of the first blank page, missing the Equestrian portraits titled "Howard at the Cemetery Gate, Gettysburg" and "Custer at Trevillan Station".
    Volume III - missing page 71/72 and missing the Equestrian portrait titled "Rosecrans at Stone River".
    Volume IV - the front and back cover aren't attached (no spine), missing Equestrian portraits titled "Reynolds; First Day at Gettysburg", "Halleck; Siege of Corinth", and "Schofield at Franklin".
    You will also get an additional copy of Volume I - missing several pages:
