Contents:
A detailed book of the
crucial contributions
women, both Confederate
?
and Union, who served in hospitals, camps, and the fields of the Civil war as
spies, nurses, soldiers,
and more. Many women smuggled medical supplies under their dresses, as medical supplies were very limited and were subsequently confiscated if caught by the other side. Chapters also include: the bloody flag of
Fort Pillow
, what we did at
Gettysburg
[part of that chapter is pictured down below], women as soldiers, and more.

Please
zoom in on
photos carefully
as they are part of the description. I am human and sometimes miss a thing or 2, but I
try to mention the book's main faults
. all of my books are VERY OLD and have 100+ years of wear to varying degrees
good plus condition.... for its age:
boards -
very secure / a few small and light spots, a very thin 2.5" wrinkle to the front board spots
textblock
- pages very secure
outer joints
- very good
spine ends
- good- with some splitting and wear
tips
- pretty good
inner hinges
- very good
pages
- generally very clean but with some stains to upper corner to page 34 [picture 9], and very light stains bottom edge of apx 150 pages, it is just a little darker in person - picture 8 [end paper the worse] / apx 16 pages with some spots
writing
- name on ffep
rips /folds
- 2 rips that I saw, 1 fold, and some "crunch" wear to bottom edge of apx 60 pages [ as though it got poked there]

- a good solid book / gilt on page edges starting to fade

for understanding --
and remember -
this book is very old and
may have accumulated bad smells along the way [musty basement/ mildew/ smoke]
- I have found that
dryer sheets in them for a few months makes a world of difference!
some of my books get sold right away so
please consider using this trick before deciding to return it!
My nose doesn't work like it use to
so the old book smell doesn't bother me.
As far as I can tell -this book has no bad smells.
