Back when the idea of "professional build WAS professional build - and how many of you can attest that you see some listings say "pro-built" but have seam lines standing out, decals that were not correct paint that was less than accurate, or parts attached the wrong way for the subject matter? It's why when I say, "Professional build", I mean it with this one - built by a modelbuilder with 19 years of experience, former US Navy and had to hunt all over the internet to find a resin FF-1 goblin kit in 1/48 (so it's a hefty little model at 39.99, RVHP models, #48017)
- so the kit itself is out of production and rare as it is, but this was done for a mass Grumman build to replicate the history of Grumman and it's contributions to the U.S. Navy and space in 1/48.
In answer to the one comment on the canopy, they forgot that the canopy was a vacuform part, part of this "garage kit", is very thin, prone to breakage with regular handling and a product of the molds for this kit, so while the painting was spot on fir the razor thin canopy, the fit was tough - reviews of this kit pointed that out that it would be tough for the experienced modelbuilder, which is why it will never be perfect for such a kit as this. If you're looking for perfection out of resin garage kit like this, you'll seldom find it. Overall, minus the cost of the kit, you get 29 hours of detailing everything else for about 70 bucks, about 2.50 or so for each hour of the build - you still get a bargain.
Check out each photo, from the main view to the mirror image of the opposite side, and note all the details on the plane itself - this is the one that started it all for Roy Grumman. Please ask any questions you may have, and the many others from that build will also be available shortly.
GENERAL NOTE: although this will be packaged in peanuts, bubble wrap AND pillow fiber, small parts may come off due to the wonderful handling skills of the "professional" USPS people, so Insurance for 0.00 WILL be added as I don't trust them as far as I can throw ANY of them, and I want you to be satisfied. Many hours (29, to be specific) were spent creating this, and I don't want them wasted due to incompetence.
Please check out the rest of the inventory I am placing up for sale over this weekend - thanks in advance, and questions are always welcomed.
